Much of the credit for the continued growth and success of the Bulldog Band program must be given to the Lakeview Band Boosters. A group of enthusiastic parents and band supporters, these people give generously of their time and talents to support the band.
My name is Karin Hudson, this is my first year as the President of the Lakeview Band Boosters, but my sixth year being actively involved with the band program. My husband, Mike, and I have two sons and we moved to Cortland 7 years ago. Mike was an active duty Marine for 21 years so our boys never got to grow roots anywhere. Once they became bulldogs we promised them no more moves and Mike retired; we have never lived in one place this long! Zachary is a 2019 Lakeview graduate and was very active in the band. He loves playing his trumpet and even now, as a Junior at the University of Akron, marches with Ohio’s Pride and is a member of Blue & Gold Brass. My heart bursts every time he marches on that field being in such an amazing college band! Our youngest son, Joshua, is a current freshmen in the drum line and is excited to “finally” be a marching Bulldog!
Mike and I were both in the band as kids (in Sandusky) and have awesome memories of that time, as well as friends we are still in touch with! Zachary still plays his dads trumpet and I played the clarinet and then moved to percussion in high school, and Joshua followed in my percussion footsteps. I was so excited for my boys to go on band trips, make those forever friends and be part of the band family; Zachary loved it and Joshua just can’t wait to dive in! I am thrilled to continue to help the Bulldogs with their ‘Tradition of Excellence’ as we approach a new school year with many new challenges.
I have made some wonderful friends volunteering with this program and I continue to meet terrific parents every year as we all work toward the same goal, supporting our incredible kids as they do what they love.
I unfortunately never knew the joy of Marching Band , or High School bands, until my son came home after marching in 8th grade at a football game. He was totally "ate -up" with marching and being part of the band. I decided to come to a booster meeting when my son was in 9th grade . I fell in love with the experience my child was having by being a part of this wonderful group. Although, my life is extremely busy with work , I'm president of Howland Alarm , and my social life including Playing Bluegrass Music in my family band , bowling , and a member of the Warren Rotary Club .... I wouldn't trade seeing my son at his happiest , by being a part of Band. I'm proud to serve as Vice President of the Boosters. I will continue to help , so that each child can have many wonderful memories of their time in Band.
My name is Michelle Moss. I’m a mom of 3 girls, 2 currently in band. My girls’ love for music and great experience with our band has inspired me to become more active in the boosters. I’m so glad to be helping as it is always a good time with a bunch of laughter! Everyone is so welcoming. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
I am Joan Gomez, and I have been the Band Booster Secretary since June 2017. Prior to that I was the Band Booster Vice President from September 2015 through May 2016. I am a Registered Nurse for Mercy Health in Youngstown, Ohio. I have been the band Nurse since 2013. I started chaperoning with the band in 2012 when my oldest son was in marching band. It is fun to watch your children have fun doing what they love. I've seen how hard work and practice pay off. I look forward to watching and listening to the band perform at each football half time, band nights and contests.
I have been married to Michael Gomez for 34 years and have 4 children. All of my children have attended Lakeview Schools. My 3 oldest were each in band all 4 years and are now in college. My youngest is currently in High School and is in the Marching Band.
