Band Boosters
Much of the credit for the continued growth and success of the Bulldog Band program must be given to the Lakeview Band Boosters. A group of enthusiastic parents and band supporters, these people give generously of their time and talents to support the band.
November Meeting Agenda...coming soon
Rachel Butler
President
My name is Rachel Butler, this is my first year as the President of the Lakeview Band Boosters and I am so excited for this new adventure and opportunity, not only to serve the students and parents but also the school and community as well. I also volunteered last year with the Lakeview Band Program and it has been such a pleasure working with everyone.
My husband, Tony, and I have lived in Cortland for 12 years and have 3 kids; Xavier is a sophomore and plays the baritone in Marching Band, trombone in Jazz White, and baritone in Symphonic band. Our daughter Caylynn is in 6th grade and plays the clarinet. Our youngest daughter Brielle is 5, in kindergarten, and loves cheering on our Marching Bulldogs!
Our family absolutely loves music and band and we’re so happy we get to share this experience together.
I look forward to an amazing year working alongside our wonderful Board, all of our awesome volunteers, our dedicated staff, and especially all of our very talented young musicians.
Shanann Graczyk
Vice President
My name is Shanann Graczyk. I have had the opportunity to volunteer the last 4 years as a mom in the uniform room. My husband, Mark and I have 2 kids. Our son, Tyler is a proud graduate of Lakeview in 2016. Our daughter Ashley, is a Senior. She plays the mellophone during marching band and the french horn in symphonic band. Her love for band has inspired me to become more involved. It has been such a great experience to work with such a talented and fun group of kids. I am looking forward to another exciting year of working together and making great memories with our band family.
Deanna Kovacs
Treasurer
My name is Deanna Kovacs. This is my second year as Treasurer with the band boosters. I am proud to be a part of this program. The Lakeview band program is amazing & we couldn't do it without the support of our band families! I am a mom of 3 beautiful, talented and amazing daughters. Alyssa is a 2020 graduate of Lakeview, she is entering her final semester at YSU and will graduate with a degree as an Intervention Specialist. DJ is a Junior at Lakeview High School, she has been involved in the band since the 5th grade with the percussion section. She is on the Snare line during marching band, and part of Symphonic band, Jazz White and pep band. She also was chosen to be part of the Stambaugh Youth Concert Band last year. And Paisley is going into 6th grade at Lakeview Middle School. This is her second year in the band and plays the saxophone. My children's love for music and the band program has inspired me to volunteer and get more involved through the years.
Michelle Moss
Secretary
Hi, I’m Michelle Moss and I am the Band Booster Secretary.
This is my 8th year volunteering with the band, and just like anyone here, my kids got me involved in all of this! Volunteering with the band though has truly been a lot of fun! I’m thankful to have made some wonderful friends I would have never met otherwise.
I originally started by helping in the concession stand and at practices, was treasurer for 4 years and now am happy to be secretary. I highly recommend that parents find a way to participate that works for them and you won't regret it!
I have 3 girls and my youngest, Izzy, is currently a freshman this year playing french horn during concert season and marching mellophone, and who knows maybe trumpet in jazz. Ella, my middle daughter, graduated in 2023 and was band president her senior year and marched snare; she is currently a bio/med student at University of Akron. My oldest, Madelyn, graduated in the class of 2021 and is currently a Music Therapy major at Slippery Rock, and member of Speed Limit Band here in town. She also recently performed in South Korea with the World Youth Wind Orchestra playing bass clarinet! Can you tell my kids love music & this program!
That being said, I'm not a musician myself and neither is my husband. Go figure! We have lived in Cortland for over 20 years and have 2 lazy retired greyhounds plus a newly adopted schnauzer/doodle. We enjoy being beekeepers and my husband teaches beekeeping in his spare time. If you have any questions, just reach out! I’d love to chat about the band!
